Microsoft Office
One of the really cool things about Microsoft Office 2000 is the fact that it is fully "web enabled". This means you can basically use any or all of the programs in the package to create web pages or even entire web sites. This is extraordinarily useful in an office environment as you can get people (assuming they already know how to use Microsoft Office) creating content without the large learning curve associated with creating normal web documents.
If you are creating these documents for an Intranet or have control over the environment of the viewers (everyone has Microsoft Office installed) you will find that you can simply hyperlink directly to any Office document.
Every program in the suite supports linking with hyperlinks. For example, you can have an Excel spreadsheet with a field which is a link to a Word document.
The suite also supports exporting directly to HTML pages. This is very powerful, as you can use, for example, PowerPoint to create a beautiful presentation which you can then output directly to HTML and include on your web site. This is a real time saver, as no WYSIWYG editor is anywhere near as full-featured as PowerPoint when it comes to making presentations.
These capabilities are even greater and more useful for Excel and Access. And when you combine the sheer power of PowerPoint, Project and Visio, you have the ability to create some awesome web sites very quickly and easily.
